13-year-old Adam discovers his father is having an affair. He decides to keep it a secret to save his parents’ failing marriage. However, the secret consumes Adam, and he realizes he cannot keep it for much longer.

‘’Inspired by scenes from Hitchcock's Rear Window we do a zoom in on a seemingly ordinary family. The children discover a secret that their father is hiding and they try to take control of the situation themselves. The interaction between the young actors and the adult cast is excellent throughout the film. With a smart script and delicate direction, the story keeps the viewer's eyes glued to the screen until the very last moment. It was immediately clear to us that the film deserved the Best Director award.’’
Director's Statement:
This film is based on my experience as a teenage boy, whose family immigrated to Israel when I was 13 years old. During filming many crew members shared with me and the producer that they went through a similar experience when they were young. ''Winter Flowers'' is my personal story, but it is a universal story, seen from the perspective of a child. Nikolay Kouleshov
